#1.  Fuel & Oil recommendations for JONSERED Chain Saws and other Two-Cycle products.

FUEL

  • USE CLEAN LEAD-FREE GASOLINE OF 90 OCTANE OR HIGHER.
  • PURCHASE FUEL IN QUANTITIES THAT CAN BE USED WITHIN 60 DAYS. THIS WILL ASSURE FUEL FRESHNESS AND VOLATILITY TAILORED TO THE SEASON.
  • AVOID GASOLINES WHICH CONTAIN A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF ALCOHOL, SUCH AS GASOHOL.
ENGINE OIL
  • USE JONSERED TWO-CYCLE ENGINE OIL OR EQUIVALENT PRODUCT WHICH MEETS GLOBAL OIL SPECIFICATIONS # ISO L-EGD AND JASO-FC.
Jonsered Two-cycle engine oil meets these specifications and comes with fuel stabilizer already added for increased storage life.

We strongly advise you not to use oils that do not meet the above specifications. Also avoid generic-label and synthetic oils.

Always follow the mixing ratio instructions on the oil bottle. For example: Jonsered oil mix ratio is 50 parts gas to 1 part oil.

Important: To ensure maximum engine life and performance, the carburetor must be adjusted to factory/epa recommendations. This requires USE OF A TACHOMETER AND OTHER SPECIALIZED TOOLS AND THEREFORE, SHOULD ONLY BE MADE BY AN AUTHORIZED JONSERED DEALER OR A PROFESSIONAL SMALL ENGINE SERVICE TECHNICIAN.

#2. Jonsered Chain Saw Bar & Chain Oil recommendations.

Always use new, clean oil specifically designated as "Bar & Chain Oil", which includes adequate "tack" (non-sling) characteristics. Never add used oil, such as crankcase drain oil or "flush oil". For additional recommendations, see your Jonsered dealer.

These recommendations are specific to Jonsered two-cycle engine products, regardless of age, for use in the U.S.A. Please note that your Operator's Manual may contain different information, depending upon its publication date.

Your manual may not reflect subsequent changes in lubrication technology, or differ simply because fuels, oils and regulations vary in different parts of the world. These recommendations are subject to revision without additional notice.

#3. Why can't I buy direct from you online?

Our commitment to quality and long-term owner satisfaction prohibits sales through chain stores, mail order companies and internet retailers who do not provide service after the sale.

Our products are sold exclusively though independent power equipment dealers, where you can obtain service, parts, accessories and knowledgeable advice.

A servicing dealer offers you added value; he ensures that your new equipment is completely assembled, adjusted and ready to work. And, he provides important information regarding safe operation of your machine. As a power equipment specialist, your local servicing dealer has unique skill and knowledge, and will be there, after the sale, to help keep your power equipment running like new.

#4. Do you sell your products outside the U.S.?

#5. Where can I get parts for my obsolete model Jonsered?

The foremost source for replacement parts for your equipment is an authorized Jonsered dealer. This is important because dealers who are not authorized as Jonsered servicing dealers do not have access to Jonsered replacement parts.

For the authorized, full-service Jonsered dealer nearest you, please click here.

Jonsered maintains parts supplies for 10 years after a model has been discontinued. After ten years, parts availability gradually diminishes through the distribution channel. The time frame over which this occurs varies by model  and the particular component.

If your authorized Jonsered dealer has checked and confirmed  that the supply of parts needed for your model has been exhausted. *  The only remaining possible source is through dealers who specialize  in parts for obsolete models.

*(Please note that this does not apply to the bar and chain. These items are readily available from your authorized Jonsered dealer.)
